Job Summary

Module Installers will perform the following functions: assisting the operators in unloading trucks of all the modules and placing them in laydown yard, assisting operators in moving the modules to the work stations, lifting 25-30lbs over and over every several seconds as they are being installed on racks, placing bolts or screws into appropriate holes to hold modules in place, using power drills and hand tools to install all of the modules and work at a fast pace to keep up with production schedules. Work environments vary based on the location and the phase of installation. Candidates must be willing to work 10 hour days, up to 6 days a week, outside in the elements, and able to lift 25-30+ lbs repetitively.

Duties And Responsibilities

  1. Work in a high pace environment while staying mindful of safety and quality.

  2. Provide recommendations for maintaining and improving project Safety performance.

  3. Hand and foot coordination: You must coordinate movements of your hands and feet in order to guide modules and specified hardware into constricted locations.

  4. Measure height, width, length, and other proportions using a tape measure.

  5. Check work along the way to ensure adherence to code and specifications.

  6. Ensure company equipment, material, and the work site are maintained, kept clean, and stored in a safe manner.

  7. Collect and dispose of scrap, excess materials, and refuse.

  8. Complete required paperwork, reporting, and other documentation.

  9. Unloading trucks and staging materials in the field.

  10. Interpersonal skills and teamwork: You must be able to coordinate your actions with those of other workers on busy construction sites.

  11. Critical thinking: Your job will require that you identify the strengths and weaknesses of solutions to problems in order to choose the one that is most likely to be successful and cost-effective.

  12. Ability to work in a production environment where daily production goals are set, evaluated and optimized.

  13. Anticipates and solves problems.

The Module Installer reports to the site Foreman, while working alongside operators and other installers, to meet and or exceed goals.

Qualifications

Basic skills and knowledge of construction; Min. 1 years’ experience in a related field.

  1. Basic skills and knowledge of mechanical and module installation; Min. 1 years’ experience in related field

  2. Prior experience working on solar sites preferred.

  3. Proficient in Construction Site Safety (OSHA 10)

  4. Able to take and follow instructions and/or direction from foreman and supervisors.

  5. Proven commitment to safety and teamwork

  6. Ability to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule

  7. Self-motivated with the ability to work well with others.

  8. Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.

  9. Comfortable working in an environment with high construction equipment traffic.

Education And Experience

Required:

  1. Valid Driver's License

  2. Proof of Citizenship

  3. OSHA 10

Special Requirements

Physical Demands

  1. Ability to communicate orally with management and other co-workers.

  2. Ability to work outside in hot and cold weather.

  3. Hearing and vision within normal ranges is helpful for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information, and to read plans/documents.

  4. Heavy lifting of 50-60 pounds is required. Exertion of up to 75 lbs. of force occasionally may be required.

  5. Good manual dexterity for the use of common mechanical tools.

The Module Installation is performed outdoors and in mostly unimproved areas on a construction site.  Activities include extended periods of standing, kneeling, and lifting. Must be able to access equipment, piles, and project site. Work environment may change from day to day depending on projects and tasks being accomplished. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required including hardhat, gloves, safety glasses, hearing and foot protection. May be required to travel and/or work out-of-town for extended periods of time.
