Josh Bessette is a second generation licensed solar contractor in Florida. He also holds NABCEP (North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners) certifications in both PV and thermal, FSEC PV certification, as well as Sunpower sales, design and installation certifications. He also is a past board member for FlaSEIA.
Josh has held many positions in the solar industry, gaining valuable experience. He started his solar career installing residential solar thermal systems in high school and college and eventually worked his way up to Director of Operations of a 35 year old solar contracting business in Florida.
Josh has extensive knowledge in system design, engineering, and product specification for both off grid and grid interactive systems ranging in size from residential to utility scale. He has been involved in hundreds of projects ranging from commercial energy storage applications to utility scale grid interactive power plants.
Josh earned his B.S. in Economics from Florida State University.
James has 25 years of construction experience delivering multimillion-dollar projects in multiple sectors including Renewable Energy (Utility Scale Solar), Industrial, Commercial, High-Tech, Space, & Healthcare. He is a graduate of Auburn’s Architectural Building School & Franklin University Switzerland. He is a licensed Class “A” Florida General Contractor.
Prior to J&B, James was the principal officer at Arraycon which was ranked #1 in Solar Power Magazine, overseeing all operations and business development for projects totaling 2 Gigawatts and more. James led utility-scaled construction of solar arrays in North America with notable projects like Tranquility & TQ8 250MW, Garland 200MW, La Mesa 130MW, Eastern Shore 100MW, Bayshore 80MW, South Hampton 140MW. The early Kaizen experience he obtained at Just Japan was utilized at Arraycon to create efficiencies and lean methods.
Prior to Arraycon James ran his own development and construction firm contracting in various sectors for NASA, Constructa Societe de Services Immonbiliers (Club Med), Health South, varied private & public work. He has experience with DNR, DEP, Army Corps. of Engineers amongst other mitigating government entities. He has negotiated multimillion-dollar contracts where the work may be fixed price at risk, construction management, unit price, cost plus, etc. Prior to that he worked for some of the world’s largest firms including Morse Diesel & Just Japan Ltd. Rich has 35 years hands on experience in the Construction industry. Starting out as a concrete laborer and working his way up through the ranks with experience in commercial, industrial, heavy civil, heavy highway and renewables.
He was a partner for 10 years at River City Concrete Pumping where he did extensive work at the Rancho Seco Nuclear Power Plant and San Onofre Nuclear Power Plant.
After moving to the LA area he worked in the Metro Rail tunnels and stations for Tutor Saliba operating tunneling equipment.

John Burke joined J&B as Controller in November 2017. In his position, Burke is responsible for the overall financial strategy at J&B. Within finance, Burke guides treasury, accounting, tax, and internal audit functions to pursue the company’s aggressive growth strategy. He is also responsible for the company’s financial reporting and long-range business planning and management.
Prior to joining J&B, Burke worked as a Controller with various companies in the Electrical, HVAC, and Medical Industries. He also has experience in SEC compliance, analysis and consulting on corporate mergers and acquisitions, as well as financial software setup, training, and implementation. Burke has also acted as corporate liaison for external auditors and CPAs during PCAOB audits and reviews.
Throughout his 20-year career in accounting, auditing, and financials planning, Burke has become an effective manager dedicated to aligning financial and business metrics to support business strategy and high-growth.

Sr. Construction Manager
Ted is Sr. Construction Manager at J&B Solar, one of the leading utility scale solar contractors in the Southeastern United States. With over 20 years of construction experience, Ted is responsible for the direction of field operations of the firm, including safety, preconstruction, and construction operations. Ted is part of the building process from the very beginning, working closely with Project managers, and engineers to review plans and blueprints, developing schedules for the project, determining material and labor costs, negotiating and scheduling with subcontractors and staffing, as well as making our work is code complaint.
Additionally, Ted also takes an active role in the development and coordination of construction procedures and policies. Teds various roles throughout his career starting as a carpenter’s helper, then foreman, area coordinator, regional supervisor, superintendent and construction manager.
These roles have developed his leadership, experience, strategic business planning, project management/planning and operations management, all of which make Ted a tremendous asset to our team.
